Go-Jek reportedly pocketed additional investment commitments of US $ 1.2 billion from Google, Tencent and JD.com.
The addition of this investment, as quoted by The Information, was allocated for the expansion of Go-Jek to four countries outside Indonesia: Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Go-Jek did not yet to respond to rumors circulating. However, if realized, Go-Jek’s valuation will exceed US$ 9 billion or around IDR 134 trillion.
Previously, news about Go-Jek was exploring new funding. Reportedly, Go-Jek’s old investors like Tencent, Temasek, Warburg Pincus will return.
President Go-Jek Andre Soelistyo had expressed the signal. “We are building a business power that truly wants to make changes in Indonesia and expand in Southeast Asia,” Andre said at the Milken Institute Asia Summit panel.
Earlier this year, Go-Jek completed a funding round of US $ 1.5 billion followed by Alphabet (parent of Google) Temasek, the Djarum Group and Astra.
Based on Bloomberg’s records, the Indonesian unicorn’s had the valuation of more than US$ 5 billion or IDR 74.7 trillion.
