9 MoUs Signed From Visit of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi to Bogor Palace

A total of 9 (nine) cooperation agreements were signed from a meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Crown Prince Abu Dhabi / Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during a visit to Bogor Presidential Palace, Java West, Wednesday (24/7) afternoon.

Minister of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Minister) Retno Marsudi told reporters explaining that the nine MoUs were: 1. MoU on Increasing Investment Protection; 2. Double Tax Avoidance MoU; 3. Industrial MoU; 4. Customs MoU; 5. Tourism MoU; 6. MoU on Maritime Affairs and Fisheries; 7. Defense MoU; 8. Consular MoU; and 9. Cultural MoU.

In addition, the Foreign Minister continued, there were 3 Business to Business MoUs signed, namely first between Pertamina and Adnoc for the development of Balikpapan’s RDMP, Integrated Supply Chain, LNG Storage. Then the second was between PT Chandra Asri and Mubadala for the new napta cracker and petrochemical complex project.

“The third is between PT Maspion Indonesia and DP World Asia regarding the development of container terminals and areas in East Java,” the Foreign Minister told reporters after accompanying President Jokwi to accept Crown Prince Abu Dhabi / Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In addition, according to the Foreign Minister, President Jokowi together with Sheikh Mohamed discussed the projects that could be carried out together. “So the three that have already been signed, there are currently several that are being discussed but have talked about future cooperation,” he said.

The Foreign Minister reminded that the United Arab Emirates has a large sovereign wealth fund, around 1.3 trillion US dollars. Such potentials, continued the Foreign Minister, which we want to work with with the United Arab Emirates.

“So I think this is in addition to a very historic visit, this is also a very straight forward, concrete, detailed visit to talk about economic issues talking about the issue of publicity,” said the Foreign Minister.
