Jakarta – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi asked all parties not to be allergic to investment, including foreign investment. Because, foreign investment is very useful for Indonesia to create as many jobs as possible.
“We must invite the widest possible investment. In what order? To open the widest possible employment, therefore do not be allergic to foreign investment,” Jokowi said in a speech delivered at Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java, Sunday, July 14 2019.
Notes from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), investment realization in the first quarter of 2019 amounted to Rp. 195.1 trillion. This value rose 5.3 percent compared to the same period in 2018, which amounted to Rp 185.3 trillion. As for the details, the value of domestic investment is Rp. 87.2 trillion and foreign investment (PMA) of Rp. 107.9 trillion.
Today, the party carrying and volunteering for presidential candidate Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin held a meeting entitled “Vision Indonesia”. In this event, Jokowi was also scheduled to give thanks for his victory in the 2019 presidential election.
In his speech, Jokowi said, all things that hinder investment must be cut. For example, such as licensing that is slow, convoluted until there are illegal levies or extortion in it. Related to this, Jokowi promised to do a check directly into the field.
“I will chase the extortion, I will control it, I will check it, and I will beat it if necessary. There are no more investment barriers because this is the key to opening the widest possible kejra field,” Jokowi said.
In addition, Jokowi also promised to carry out structural bureaucratic reform so that all existing institutions are simpler, more agile and simple. The former DKI Jakarta Governor warned if there were unchanging bureaucracies that would be cut.
According to Jokowi, the speed of serving one of them in granting permits should be immediately implemented because it is the key to bureaucratic reform. He ensured, if there were officials who could not follow this plan, Jokowi would cut it down.
“Therefore, we need courageous ministers, if there are institutions that are not useful, and have problems, I make sure, I disband,” Jokowi said.
