Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Wishnutama Kusubandio said, Borobudur must have its own uniqueness so that it can be easily promoted to foreign tourists (tourists).
To see the development of infrastructure development in Borobudur, Wishnutama together with Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture Angela Tanoesoedibjo directly observed the latest development of Borobudur super priority destinations in Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday (12/19/2019). The visit began with Nglinggo Tourism Village in Kulon Progo Regency, DI Yogyakarta.
There they enjoyed a panoramic view of the tea garden and talked with creative economic actors, such as batik producers and SMEs. Menparekraf Wishnutama emphasized the importance of product packaging to SMEs.
“We will help with packaging. Because it is not only quality, but ‘look’ must also be considered,” said the Menparekraf while trying the Menokah Moka Coffee.
Menparekraf Wishnutama also touched on the creative economy sector. According to him, there are 16 creative economy sub-sectors that can be developed in a tourist village and added value for visitors.
“Where there are tourist destinations, there is ‘local wisdom’. That’s where the creative economy develops, such as culinary, souvenirs to photography that will make the community prosper,” he said.
After that, the visit continued to DeLoano Glamping. Menparekraf Wishnutama and Vice Minister of Tourism Angela Tanoesoedibjo discussed with the Borobudur Authority (BOB) team, Kulon Progo Sutedjo Regent, and several teams from the tourism service in Central Java.
“There are several challenges and we need from several related ministries such as the completion of the 50 hectare HPL status at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the BOB-Perhutani cooperation with 259 hectares with the Ministry of SOEs, the provision of basic infrastructure with the Ministry of PUPR, international direct flights with Kemenhub , and product travel patterns and business standardization and tourism human resources with Kemenparekraf, “said Director of the Borobudur Authority Indah Indah Juanita.
Indah Juanita also presented the master plan of Borobudur Priority Destination, in the form of villas and various supporting tourism facilities such as restaurants and others. Of course, these developments are in harmony with nature.
“Surely we will help convey it to the relevant ministries. I will also meet with high-ranking foreign airline officials who will also ask them to open flights to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA),” said Menparekraf Wishnutama.
Finally, Menparekraf Wishnutama wishes that the development of the Borobudur Super Priority Destination has its own unique value. Thus, it will make Borobudur easier to be promoted to Nusantara and foreign tourists.
