JAKARTA – Businessmen of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia agreed to sign two trade contracts after going through a long negotiation process and assistance of the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah on the sidelines of the 2019 Trade Expo Indonesia event.
“Today’s agreement is the result of the government’s strong commitment to encourage exports,” explained the Indonesian Consul General in Jeddah in his statement on Saturday (10/19/2019).
The trade contract was signed by Mizanain and PT Sido Muncul Tbk., As well as SBTC and PT Eka Timur Raya, with a total value of both of US $ 2.4 million.
Present in the agreement were Mizanain Trading and Marketing Company Owners Abdillah and Achmad Zar’an, representatives of SBTC
“Wind resistance is the 57th Indonesian product that has been in the last three years,” said Gunawan, Head of the ITPC Jeddah, who also gave birth to the initiation of the process of the entry of Wind Rejection to Saudi Arabia.
Some new products that have entered Saudi include Catfish for consumption of Hajj Catering, Diet Sugar Products from Nutrifood and some Herbal medicine products from Indonesia.
The SBTC is a Saudi Arabian company that won the Primaduta Award for participating in boosting the trade value between Indonesia and Saudi, especially in the MSME market sector.
After signing the agreement, representatives from SBTC confirmed that the company had long partnered with entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
According to him, in addition to product quality, one of the things that kept him working with Indonesian entrepreneurs was hospitality in interacting, and always showing a sense of friendship and family.
“For us, the people of Indonesia are like brothers, and we remain committed to continuing to import products from Indonesia so that the people of the Middle East can easily get quality Indonesian products in their countries.
In addition to the two purchase contracts, purchasing orders for catfish to Saudi Arabia will be completed with a trading value of approximately 9 million SAR, spices and tuna purchases with a value of US $ 3.7 million and purchase of VCO to enter the Saudi market.
Today’s total trade was recorded at US $ 587 million from contracts with various companies in several countries such as Italy, China and Nigeria.
In a series of TEI 2019 visits, the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah brought 175 businessmen from Saudi Arabia who wanted to find a trading partner in Indonesia.
The targeted products are quite diverse, ranging from spices, snacks, to heavy vehicle and military spare parts.
