Jakarta, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), along with a number of ministers, today, Sunday (1/12/2020), headed for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (PEA), for a work visit.
Jokowi’s visit was a reply to the official visit of the UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan to the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, in August 2019.
In Abu Dhabi, Jokowi will offer the Indonesian government’s plan to move the capital to Middle Eastern investors. This offer will be made by Jokowi when he is the keynote speaker at the Sustainable Week show.
“The president will also convey the plan of a new capital,” said Minister of State Secretary Pratikno at Halim Perdana Kusuma, Sunday (1/12/2020).
“So with the new capital city, the President wants to invite the international world to make Indonesia’s new capital city a show case, an example of the world,” he said.
When reviewing the location of the new Capital City in the District of Kutai Kartanegara and Penajam Paser Utara last December, Jokowi will indeed make the construction of the new Capital City project a pilot.
Later the new capital will be built with the concept of smart city, green city, to zero emissions. This, said Pratikno, will be offered to various Middle Eastern investors during the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Week performance.
“The President wants to offer that the new Capital City is one of the things to be conveyed about the vision going forward,” he explained
“Yes, we invite partners because there is a lot of energy, because this is why we have to become a motor for housing. New engine development,” Pratikno said.
