Jakarta – Chairman of the Indonesian Walking Football Federation (IWFF), Muzakkir Manaf, or who is familiarly called Mualem, appointed Hendra Hartono Turman as chairman of the IWFF board for the DK Jakarta and Banten Provinces, Saturday (29/8/2020).
Hendra was also appointed as the executive for IWFF management in East Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta. Late last year, Muallem and H. Rusli Bintang have been appointed by Qatar-based International Walking Football Asia Pacific to advance walking football in the country. It is planned that next year the IWFF will hold the Asia Open Cup in Aceh.
IFWW Indonesia invites football fans to walk in the country to form clubs that can reunite former old players or legends from football clubs in Indonesia to prepare for training to hold trials.
Muallem said that currently running football is becoming increasingly popular. This game is designed with the rules that players cannot run, but only walk.
The walking football game will help players aged 40+, 50+ and 60+ maintain an active, healthy lifestyle and stay in shape.
IWFF Indonesia was launched last June at H. Dimurthala Stadium in Banda Aceh. During the launch, a trial match was held which was also attended by Acehnese football legend players from Persiraja. (Ria)
